In Club
Building you will reap all the usual benefits
that a custom fitting can offer, ie. loft and lies, length
of clubs, grip size and shaft flex. In addition you can
have your shafts
pured
and have your irons frequency
matched.
Frequency Matching:
Frequency
Matching is where each iron head is measured for weight,
each individual
shaft is measured for its flex and then trimmed as required
so that every club flex exactly matches each other.
I’m sure
everyone has had a favourite iron in a particular set – one
of the reasons for this is that it might have a slightly
different flex than the rest of your clubs. Although all
sets of clubs say they have the same flex, there are
tolerances within this. For example, a regular flex can be
a ‘strong’ regular, and be close to being a stiff shaft, or
it can be a ‘soft’ regular making it nearly ‘senior’ flex –
combined with a light head or a heavier head, this could
make each shaft perform completely different. So without
first finding out what each individual head weighs and what
frequency each shaft is there is a high possibility
that your irons are not the same as each other.
On top of
measuring heads and shafts, grips are also measured to find
out what weight they are. The outcome being that the
overall balance and weight of every iron matches each other.
